ARCOA sanitizes all data storage devices that are received into our facilities. We adhere to the data sanitation practices required by the R2 Standard and described by the NIST Guidelines for Media Sanitation. Our destruction processes are reviewed and validated on a periodic basis by independent parties who do not have direct responsibility for this process.

We have the capability to handle any quantity of hard drives, back up tapes, CD's, thumb drives and smart phones. Services include secure transportation from your site to our facilities where items will be degaussed in accordance with all federal regulations.

We utilize degaussing as our primary mechanism for data sanitation. Degaussing is a method of media destruction where the data on a storage disk is magnetically altered by an electromagnetic field so that it is unrecoverable. This process renders the disk completely unreadable and unusable.
